EULAR Awards for special achievements

In recognition of special achievements in the field of rheumatic diseases, EULAR has established a programme of special awards that are granted each year. While the Abstract Award honors singular individual achievements, the Meritorious Service Award is designed to honor lifetime contributions to rheumatology.
The EULAR Centres of Excellence are rheumatology research units in Europe that are recognised for continued excellence in research publications and the aim of the EULAR Network of Imaging Centres is to attract rheumatologists and/or trainees in rheumatology who will be educated in a particular imaging technique or in developing research projects. The major aims of the EULAR active research centres are to strengthen basic research, attract more young fellows for basic research and to form a European research network for future endeavours.

The Stene Prize for patients finally is an annual prize bestowed on the winner of an essay contest.

As a mark of distinction EULAR may elect as honorary members individuals who have rendered outstanding service in accomplishing the objectives of EULAR. Over the years EULAR has bestowed honorary membership to many personalities.
