Executive Director (100%), Kilchberg – Zurich
The European Alliance of Associations for Rheumatology, EULAR, is the organisation which represents the people with arthritis/rheumatism, health professionals in rheumatology (HPR) and scientific societies of rheumatology of all the European nations.
EULAR aims to reduce the impact of rheumatic and musculoskeletal diseases (RMDs) on the individual and society and to improve the social position and the quality of life of people with rheumatic and musculoskeletal diseases in Europe.
To this end, EULAR stimulates, promotes, and supports education, research, prevention and treatment of rheumatic and musculoskeletal diseases. These include the diseases of the musculoskeletal or locomotor system as well as systemic immune mediated diseases.
EULAR is looking for a committed personality to succeed the current holder of the position as Executive Director.
In this role, you will manage the EULAR office as a prudent all-rounder and be responsible for all business matters - from finances to human resources and legal issues. You will lead a team of about 30 employees. Your knowledge and skills are needed to implement the EULAR strategy objectives and further develop the organisation.
As an active member of the EULAR Steering Group and EULAR Council, you will be in close contact with various committees and collaborators. As a credible communicator, you find the right tone with a wide variety of reference groups and maintain an eye-to-eye exchange with experts as well as with people who are committed to EULAR as volunteers.
You have a degree from a university or a university of applied sciences and sound financial and legal knowledge. You have several years of experience in the management of a non-profit organisation, ideally gained in a medical association. Experience in an international environment is an advantage. Your interest in health care issues - especially rheumatology - is important, a medical or scientific background a plus. As an organisational talent, you maintain an overview of day-to-day operations, work reliably and in a goal-oriented manner, and are a convincing communicative personality with a service-oriented management culture. You are a stress-resistant positive personality with very high engagement level. You are fluent in written and spoken English - as well as in German for local contacts. The place of work is Kilchberg (ZH).
